Stockholm meets Kuala Lumpur

Stockholm is a city with a congestion fee system for cars. Now people in KL has visited Stockholm and had a look at that system. So now the highways in KL will get that system too. The one of the differences is that in Stockholm you have a good/great subway and bus system an alternative to using a car...... Well here is the KL article.

The Swedes play "Brännboll" in KL.

One Sunday every year the Swedish School in Kuala Lumpur arranges for a day of "Brännboll".

"Brännboll" is an outdoor sport which resembles baseball/softball and cricket. You have a ball and a bat and you run around the field after hitting the ball. Most Swedes learn the art of "Brännboll" in School. Brännboll has not made it into a "real official sport" in Sweden.

We had lots of fun and made lots of new friends!

All thanks to the
Swedish School of Kuala Lumpur!!!

And on the Third Day

(or Don´t Leave Home Without It)

On the third day Ann lost her wallet. Somebody opened her handbag and snatched her wallet.
I must say it was "nicely" done because we "boys of the family" did not notice a thing. At the time we were strolling around in the Sunway shoppingcenter looking at the ice skating, shops and restaurants.

To find an ice rink inside a shopping center is maybe not so strange but it feel different when it is about 30 degrees Celsius outside.

After the incident Ann went back to stop her credit cards and then we went to the local police station which took our report. Not much more to do or say.

"American Express don´t leave home without it" became not a slogan but the truth. The very next day Ann could get a new credit card and we could get on with our new lives.

How can you go without knowing were to live?

This has not been a problem for us. We have found out that we will stay in a hotel for the first week and then in a Service Apartment (whatever that is). After about a month we should be able to move into the Apartment were we will spend the rest of our time in Kuala Lumpur. My hope is that it will be close to the boys friends.... Beside the hotel there is a Water Park called Sunway Lagoon . I hope that we will have time to visit it before school starts. CD and AD has been to Water Parks before and they love them. I will try to take some pictures for "yous" to see. /Cheers

We are off ... down the yellow brick road.

So we are off to Kuala Lumpur. Here we are outside Ann's parents house. We had to stay there because our house is rented out to a French family. The girl and the baby is Christoffer's and Andrew's cousins. We are flying Gothenburg-Copenhagen-Bankok-Kuala Lumpur. We will hopfully touch down on twelve on Sunday. Please not that Malaysia is five hours ahead of Sweden.

Ask not once, twice but four times.

My wife has asked if everything about the Visa was ok. She has asked the question three times and on the fourth time we found out that we will initially have a three month turist Visa. So what would happen if or when we come down to emigration in KL with our tickets which have a return in six month time. Imigration in KL has rejected people before with the wrong type of ticket, which is understandable.

So we had to get new tickets the day before leaving :-) No problem but just another hurdle to jump.

ps. this reminds me of traveling with Greyhound buses in the US. Ask at least three times and you will receive three different answers.
